Our Team

At Bellbird Homes, we believe that keeping our team small is one of the key reasons we consistently deliver homes of the highest quality. A boutique approach allows us to maintain close oversight of every project, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a personalised experience for every client.

From our dedicated full-time crew to the trusted subcontractors we work alongside, we carefully select professionals who share our commitment to quality and integrity. Every tradesperson working under the Bellbird Homes banner is fully licensed, fully insured, and highly qualified in their respective field.

Owner and Director, Lee, remains actively involved in the day-to-day construction process and is still hands-on throughout each project. With more than 30 years of experience in the building industry, Lee’s practical knowledge, leadership, and commitment to quality help ensure every project is completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

At Bellbird Homes, we are passionate about investing in the future of the building industry. We believe in passing on valuable skills and knowledge to the next generation of tradespeople. That’s why we proudly employ apprentices and provide opportunities for young people to learn firsthand about the construction industry. We also support local schools by hosting work experience students, giving them a genuine insight into life on a building site and helping inspire future careers in construction.

About Lee

Lee Ramsay is the Managing Director of Bellbird Homes and brings more than 30 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry to every project.

His passion for building began long before he entered the workforce. As a young boy, Lee spent countless hours in the backyard designing and constructing cubby houses and other projects for himself and his brother. What started as a childhood interest quickly grew into a lifelong career.

In 1993, at the age of 16, Lee commenced his carpentry apprenticeship, laying the foundations for what would become a diverse and extensive career in residential construction. Upon completing his apprenticeship, he joined the family business and spent several years working as a leading hand for his uncle’s concreting company. During this time, he developed the skills and experience required to become a qualified concreter.

Lee believes that understanding concrete construction is a significant advantage in home building. “Every home starts from the ground up. If the foundations aren’t right, everything that follows becomes more difficult. Getting the basics right is the key to delivering a quality home.”

At around 22 years of age, Lee established his own carpentry business, specialising in internal fit-outs and finishing carpentry. His reputation for quality workmanship and attention to detail led him to work on luxury homes throughout Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, where he refined his skills and developed the high standards that continue to define Bellbird Homes today.

In 2008, Lee relocated to Canada, where he worked as a Foreman for a landscape construction and building company. During this time, he gained extensive experience in hard landscaping and was exposed to a variety of innovative building methods and construction techniques. The knowledge and skills he acquired overseas continue to influence the way he approaches design and construction in Australia.

In 2018, Lee and his family made the move from Melbourne to the Far South Coast of New South Wales. After settling into the region and recognising the opportunity to bring his broad range of skills and experience to the local community, he established Bellbird Homes.

Today, Lee remains actively involved in every project, working closely with clients from concept and design through to construction and completion. His commitment to quality, practical knowledge, and passion for building are at the heart of every Bellbird Homes project.

For Lee, building is more than a profession—it’s a craft, a passion, and an opportunity to create homes that families will enjoy for generations to come.
